I don't know if this one can be topped. Either in terms of creativity, or just pure awesomeness.
While he was in the Philippines, Neil Gaiman agreed to help a fan propose to his girlfriend! This guy is awesome. His girlfriend, understandably said yes. (Click on the linkies to get their accounts of the story. Lots of pictures, and not too much reading.)
